fifth food drive3/6/2021 We had a lot of requests to host more food drives. We also had a lot of volunteers who wanted chances to help out their community. We decided to pass out flyers early March, and then pick up the food about a week later. We had a ton of support again and we are all so grateful. Thank you for those who have been donating and supporting us along this journey! We ended up with about 198 pounds of food and supplies. The Hawaii Food Bank has many volunteer opportunities - to see how you can help our community, visit www.hawaiifoodbank.org.

fourth food drive12/14/2020 Early December, we decided to host yet another food drive. Every time we've done these, the community always seems to want to help out more. On Sunday, December 14th, we passed out flyers to about 200 houses. We also posted on Next Door letting our community know that they could also go to Hunakai Park and drop off food there. On Saturday December 19th, we went around and picked up the food. We got to meet so many new members of our neighborhood and their smiles made the work all worth it. Thank you so much to anyone who donated or supported us. We now have 2 new members and if you'd like to find out how to help, you can check us out on Instagram @next.wave.hawaii. Also, the Hawaii Foodbank never has enough food, especially with the holidays coming up. We ended up with about 845 pounds of food and items! If you'd like to support them even more, you can go to their website hawaiifoodbank.org. Again, thank you to anyone who's supported us and we hope to see you again soon!

third food drive6/30/2020 Late June, we decided (because our last food drive was such a success with over 300 donations from our neighbors,) to have another food drive. We passed out about 200 flyers. This time was different because we had two new members who helped out. We did two different locations as well. We ended up with over 700 donations! We appreciate and are very grateful to anyone who donated.

second kahala food drive5/4/2020 Late April, we did a food drive in our neighborhood. We ended up with 377+ cans and many people requested we do it again. So, we listened and passed out the flyers on May 4th and 6th. We collected the food on May 9th. Again, we were very successful. We got over 471 donations! We are looking forward to doing it again in the future!

kahala food drive4/23/2020 When the COVID19 pandemic starting to quickly escalate, we knew that we wanted to help out. As much as others want to contribute during this time of need, it can be scary to leave the safety of one's home to drop off food at a food bank. We knew that this was the perfect opportunity to help everyone out. After a few family meetings, we had a plan. We decided to pass out flyers informing our neighbors that we would come by to pick up canned food, sanitary necessities, and food supplies. We were delighted to hear that the Hawaii Food Bank was on board with our idea. A few days later, we walked around the neighborhood collecting enormous amounts of bags, boxes, and carts full of food. We are so grateful for the support of our neighbors.

cookies for a cause7/24/2019 In 2019, we decided to set up a lemonade stand on our driveway. We wanted to donate all of our proceeds towards two charities of our choice. To our surprise, many of our neighbors supported our cause and bought our lemonade and cookies. We ended up making over 150 dollars. We donated it to a charity for people in need of food and clean water.
